Do you knit or crochet?

Perhaps you would like to make a Prayer Shawl this winter. We have easy patterns to knit or crochet one. They are available on the table outside the church office.

Prayer shawls have been around for centuries and offer comfort and loving presence to those who receive them. A Prayer Shawl ministry offers prayer shawls to friends of Trinity who are celebrating a significant birthday or graduation, or marking an important transition in their life. They are offered to those who are sick or facing treatment, or who have suffered  loss or are making their way through other times of struggle.

Prayer Shawls are made with prayers in every stitch.

Here is a blessing you can pray as you knit or crochet.

Loving God, as I create this shawl, may it be woven with love and compassion for whoever receives in her/his time of need. May it be a sign of hope and caring from our family of faith. Amen.

We’ll collect finished prayer shawls and have a blessing day. Then they will be available to give to others.
