We are the church together!
The Confirmation group made a fruit salad after pizza on Saturday night. We were learning about the new structure of The United Church of Canada and the roles the different parts play in being the church together.
Fruit salad?
Well, while we cut up an apple, we learned what a minister does.
Add blueberries, and talk about what the Trinity Council does.
Add grapes, lots of grapes, for all that the congregation does.
Now, wonder about how the apples, blueberries and grapes work together.
That’s not all.
Trinity belongs to the Fundy St. Lawrence Dawning Waters Regional Council. What if they are an orange? While we prepared the orange for the fruit salad, we read a letter from the Rev. Audrey Louder to our confirmation group.

That’s not all.
The Fundy St. Lawrence Dawning Waters Regional Council is part of the General Council. We listened to the Moderator’s Advent Message. While we prepared a pear, we learned more about the work of General Council from a letter to our “Confirmationers” from Amy Crawford who is the Team Leader Faith Formation and Mission in the General Council.

Then we talked about the whole fruit salad working together.
And we ate a bowl of the best fruit salad ever!
